BodyBugg and calories burned

So I just started using the BodyBugg. I only wore it for 4 hours today and some of that was during a HIIT workout. I plugged in the HIIT for exercise and then I added the rest of the calories burned separate. For those of you that have and use a BB, do you record your total calories for the day in here or just when you exercise? I just want to get the best use of this site and the BB together.

Thank you!
Steph

I only record my food here, and I keep track of everything on Apex. It's kind of annoying to do both, but it works. I manually set my MFP calories to 1900 which is how much I should eat if I burn my daily goal of 2900. If I don't get there, I adjust my eating so I still have an appropriate calorie deficit. (1000/day)

If you do record anything here, just record the calories burned during exercise, not everything you burned for a day according to the BB.

I use a Bodymedia Fit & I just track everything in a spreadsheet. It would be nice if this site would show you the number they come up with for what you burn apart from exercise as well as your daily deficit, but it doesn't. A certain other weight loss site I used to frequent did this & I liked it a lot...I could override the calories it said I burned & replace it with my daily total from the BMF website. Unfortunately their food database isn't as good as the one here, so everything's a tradeoff.

Long story short, just log your food here & transfer the total to a column in your spreadsheet, put your daily burn in another column, then put a formula in a third column subtracting intake from burn to get your deficit.

I do record my cardio here just to share what I'm doing with my friends, I don't eat back the calories it gives me though.

Thats what I do now...it is easier to log your cals on MFP to get your consumed cals for the day...I am not as savvy as Stubbysticks though....I keep a handwritten journal here at my computer in which I do the same...cals consumed-cals burned= deficit...
  • Hi Steph

I've been using BodyBugg since August, and I wouldn't miss a day wearing it (even at night).

I log all my food here on MFP and when I plug my Bugg in I just enter daily calories consumed in the Daily Estimate on the activity manager.

As I have the little monitor too I can see how many calories my exercises burn (I do a new "Trip" when I start my exercise and that shows me how much I burned during it). I enter those exercise figures here on MFP under my exercises.

So it's a kind of to-in and fro-ing between the two systems and databases making the best of both, but it works really well and gives you a wealth of information you can (over)analyse if you wish (I know I do...).
