The best time for me is whenever I can fit it into my day. Sometimes mornings, sometimes afternoons, sometimes evenings. Sometimes two of the three. Every time I exercise, I burn calories ..... so it's kinda like other things - I take it when I can get it.
  • you need to figure out a proper exercise plan. a few minutes of jump rope here and there wont do you a huge amount of good.

Try doing it in circuits, i.e:

Jump 30 secs, rest 30 secs, jump 30 secs, rest 30 sec etc for 3 minutes.
Then have 2 minutes rest and do the same process but with jumping jacks or running up the stairs.

Then after a week, increase the 30 secs to 45 secs jumping, then 15 seconds rest etc.. and go for a total of 5 minutes.

Depends on your schedule but I find AM people tend to have more energy. PS Sweating is a Good thing some sweat more then others. ALso you may sweat more depending on what your eating.

Sweat = good. It means your body is cooling. I always sweat during the warmups. And exercise whenever you have time because there is not a specific time that is most beneficial.

According to circadian rhythm research your body temp is usually at it's lowest at 4:30 am, is at it's highest at 7:00 pm, with greatest cardiovascular efficiency and muscle strength at 5:00 pm. hope this helps!

I use to work out 2 nights after work in the week plus saturday and sunday. When i did my workout after work, the earliest i would get to the gym is about 7pm. As I have sleeping issues, my doc suggested I do no exercise after 6pm as this might be a contributory factor so I had to change my routine. I am at work monday - friday 8:30am - 6pm and as my gym is closer to home, going in my lunch break was not an option. For the past few weeks I have been going to the gym before work instead. This means I have to be up by at least 5:45am and be at the gym by 6am (in time for when it opens!) in order to be back home by 7am to get ready for work. Thank God I only have to do it twice a week.

I do find that when I workout in the morning as opposed to the evenings, my heart rate is higher and I burn more calories for the same exercise. Despite having to get up so early twice a week, I do prefer morning workouts as it frees up my evenings plus as I do eat my exercise calories, I feel I have better control over staying within my limit when I know what calories I have to play with for the day.

On weekends I workout also in the mornings but at a more sensible time.

someone told me it doesn't matter if you sweat or not you're still burning calories but I feel as I've done more if I get up early morning and do a good session that makes me sweat, than doing it later in day when I don't seem to sweat as much.

I read about waking up in 'fat burning mode' and other times of day it can take up to 30 mins to reach it, I don't know how true this is, but I definitely start sweating much quicker when start in morning and stay hot for workout, sauna belt is dripping when I take it off and lost 12" off tummy! .. when do same routine in afternoon or evening I don't even break a sweat and usually struggle to complete it with the same energy.

  • thanks guys I just did 26 minutes of excersise. doing stairs, jumping rope, mordern dancing aerobics, a dog pose for yoga. Also Jump rope. Also a bit of kick boxing. I laughed I thought I tore my right leg, but it wasn't my clothes, So it was my hip that made that aweful noise. I need to tell my doctor about that.
