Water Intake

Good morning pals;
As I was logging my morning intake, I was wondering if you guys count water in coffee or tea as part of your water intake or only pure water?
Just curious, thanks!

I don't. There are different schools of thought on this, but I would rather err on the side of caution. I only count water as water. I have come to crave it so much now that I have no problems getting 12-14 glasses a day. Have gone from about 5-7 cups of coffee a day to one...and only some days, not every day.0

Both for me0 -
There's different thoughts on this. I count water as water, and plain herbal tea as water.. because honestly it's just some herbs stuck in a mug of hot water and left to steep without sweetner, same deal to me. I don't count anything else as water though.0

I wonder the same thing... I drink like crystal lite and sugar free kool-aid which is mostly water; however right now I only count water as water.. but I do wonder the same thing!!0

My rule of thumb is to record everything that goes in my mouth as it is. Water is water, tea is tea, wine is wine etc. Besides coffee is dehydrating. Just my thoughts.
Have a healthy and happy day0 -
I know we can't count coffee in, since it more a beverage and for many reasons we should drink less than more.
Into water, I put herbal teas (light ones) but all diuretics, nop.0 -
I don't log water, but if I did I absolutely would count it. I mostly drink ice tea so if I didn't log it, it would seem as if I only drank 1 or 2 glasses of liquid per day. Here is a good article explaining water intake:
http://www.webmd.com/parenting/healthy-family-choices-11/healthy-beveragesCoffee and tea also count in your tally. Many used to believe that they were dehydrating, but that myth has been debunked. The diuretic effect does not offset hydration.0 -
I don't usually bother logging my water. Once in a while I log it just to check. I only log plain water, because everything else is already logged in my diary - so I can add the tea and everything in with my total. It all counts towards hydration.0

Coffee is more of a beverage than water?? There is actually plenty of medical evidence that drinking coffee is good for you. It's linked to recuded risk of breast, prostate and endometrial cancers, for example.0 -
