It's amazing how sometimes we don't realize just how we look (good or bad) until we see a picture of ourselves. This goes both ways on the scale. I mean I can look in the mirror every day...strut around in a bikini and nit pick at every single part of my body or admire parts I think I like...but when someone snaps that picture and you see it...it is SOOOOOO NOT what I see in the mirror. It's crazy. Pictures are sort of great I think. They help motivate and inspire. I just love seeing these before and after pics and stories. I feel a little jealous at times, but I LOVE when you guys explain how you got to where you are (the more detailed the better-LOL)and you help me see that it IS possible for ME too.

It even brings a tear to my eye sometimes.

I just want to say Thank you! Congratulations! And let's keep on trucking! :) LOVE YOU ALL! :)

Very true. I just took a new profile pic, and what the camera showed me is not what I see in the mirror many days. I posted it to remind me of how far I've come and to keep me motivated. The hard work IS worth it! And in the process, I even inspired a fellow MFP friend to do extra reps on their arms and shoulders yesterday  Love it!

I agree totally too.... I thought I was starting to look good and then a picture of me and I saw myself in a different way.... Really going to push it now...... that picture hopefully will keep me motivated to make the change I have been trying to do..... good luck to all of you on your journey... this site has alot of support that a person needs to stay focused.. the pics also help me to see that it is possible to make the change in yourself at any age and any body type....... happy holidays......

I have spent years looking in the mirror and not actually looking at what I saw - I didn't want to see what I had done to myself. I think taking pictures before during and after help you to see the 'real' you and encourage you on the journey - they say the camera never lies! I personally have been motivated so many times by looking at the pictures posted here and the success stories and I thank every one of those people for sharing - not easy to do when you don't like what you see - fantastic to see the before and afters though!
To anyone just starting - take those pictures you don't want to see as one day you will look back and realise how far you have come and YOU will inspire people to carry on!
