I am back

Hello everyone.. I'm Lin, live in Watertown NY and I'm back. I was very faithful signing in every day but then, as we all do, I blew it and stopped. I had bariatric lapband surgery in 2009 and since then I have only lost 12-15 pounds. I have a disfunctional if not totally blown thyroid, and I may be seeking RNY surgery IF the insurance company thinks I'm good enough to pay for it!
At any rate, I plan to be back here every day and to look to you all for motivation. I hate to exercise and the holidays have me in a real funk... but I'll be back... and stay back this time.

Hi Lin!
Welcome back! I can understand the thyroid issues...I had to have half of mine removed 13 years ago due to cancer (I was only 23). My weight has been such a battle since highschool, but even worse with thyroid issues...I feel your pain!
Feel free to add me a as a friend for support...

Nice to have you back, we all get in a funk, but it's being able to pull ourselves out that makes us a success. Stick with it, we are all here to support you.:happy:0

Hi Lin,
I feel you. I love to exercise and hit the gym 4 days a week. I am a runner and used to run long distance. After two kids and a battle with an anxiety disorder my weight is a bit out of control. I also smoked for the past 4 years. So I am now 42 days smoke free, I am running 30 minutes and hiking for 20 4 days a week. I am counting every calorie and I barley have lost one pound....my meds make it almost impossible to lose the weight. So the next step I am on is removing the meds. It is disheartening to put so much effort forward with only a little return. However...I remind myself that the effort transcends just physical goals. When we manage our weight, or manage our activity, we are really reinventing our lives and regaining a control in our life that is needed. I am managing my stress and putting some order/thought of what I place in my body...exercising my self love.
Even when we are on an uphill battle, we still need to keep going up the hill. We might not be able to run it, but we can walk slowly. Nice to have you back Lin!!!! You got this! Keep going!0 -
Thanks everyone... I can't explain how much your posts meant to me. I'm working on this - one day at a time.. thank you for your encouragement and I hope to be here more often!0
