Hi there. I just joined this site on Tuesday and am loving it so far. I need to lose 50 pounds and have already lost 5 this week - although I know that it's all just water at this point. I've been a yoyo dieter my whole life and am hoping I can make a change for life.

Thanks. I'm impressed - you have already lost 25 pounds since December. That's awesome!!! What kinds of exercise are you doing?? Do you eat your exercise calories? I'm nervous to get above my 1200 a day. One more question - I'm having trouble eating the allowed protein - I'm always over my limit. Anyone else having issues with that??0

Welcome.
You are in the right place. My road has been hard but I have stayed with this site and do see great changes.
Stick with it and you will not fail. Even if you feel like you did just keep going.
Use all the tools this site has to offer.
Food & Exercise that sanifrey said. Those are the key.
Set a Monthly date to change your ticker. I use to change it when ever my scale changed. BAD, BAD, BAD Idea! It will only get you down.

I started dieting 1-5-09 and dropped 20lbs really quickly. But now I am down to a healthlier loss of about 2 lbs per week. I know they say eat your excercise calories, but I typically do not and it works for me (so far). I also always go over on my protein and I cannot figure out how to fix it. Before this site I thought my problem was carbs, but I soon found out it is protein and fat.0 -
Every body is different. My body works better eating the same amount of carbs and protein so I ALWAYS go over what the site shows from protein. As long as your body doesn't protest, keep going over the protein.0
