Office Cubicle Munchies

I work 8 hours in a cubicle. I eat breakfast and lunch but it's like when I start stressing I want to eat something. I never considered myself to be an emotional eater but maybe I am. I'm trying to stay within in my calorie goal and using the 40/40/20 method for carb/protein/fat. Any suggestions? I was off from work yesterday and I didn't have the same urge to snack like I do today. :-(

From a quick glance at your diary I would simply suggest eating more protein. It doesn't appear that you're hitting the targets for that and it is what will make you feel full and satisfied.0

I have a box of low fat, or fat free popcorn, a box of the Pure Protein Smores protein bars, a jar of lightly salted peanuts, and a few cans of crystal lights on my desk at all times. The popcorn has been a staple, especially since a large bag can last me almost all day. Plus, I also keep hot teas in a little basket, and it helps to calm my snack cravings down.
If I have a sweet tooth, the sugar free candy selection in my grocery store is a lifesaver! I keep a small stash of sugar free candies, too, and I limit myself to a max of 3 a day (just for "safety" purposes... lol).
Those are my suggestions... I hope you find something that works for you!0 -
popcorn for sure, a whole bag is only 100 cal or you can make your own in the micro0

I have 3 "meals" in the office every day... a late morning snack of oatmeal and peanut butter with a shot of whey on the side, my regular lunch, and then a little something before I leave (easiest is a meal replacement shake, but it can vary. For example, yesterday I discovered some pumpkin pie in the break room  ).
It's either you bring more food to work to eat, or make your breakfast and lunch bigger.0 -
I agree that protein is a must. If you're not allergic, I would suggest taking some peanuts or whatever tree nut you like to work for a mid-morning snack. I even measure mine out before i leave the house and put them a little bag to make sure I am not overdoing it, since the calories add up quick with nuts.
You could also try special k protein powder. You add it to a water bottle like crystal light, but it has a little protein in it. I also drink hot green tea at work, which cuts done on my hunger quite a bit.0 -
Here's the stash I have at work.
Oatmeal, peanut butter, apples, bananas, almonds, chicken breast, tuna, sweet potatoes, zucchini and wheat thins.0 -
You cannot UP your protein if your kidneys aren't working properly, that's the worst thing you can do. Your creatinine level will skyrocket, Not good. Veggies I'd say yes to, protein no. Check with your nephrologist.0
