Easy Workouts

Anyone know some workouts for "beginners"? I used to be very active, but now adays, I find myself so busy that I have a hard time find the motivation to do anything. I have bought programs (the last being Turbo Jams) that I never wind up using. I am constantly watching the informercials and wanting to buy more and more and try them all, but lets be real -- it's a waste of money if you dont use them! I would love to be able to even go running - but it's just not possible in NY weather with a 6 week old. It will be a while until I can afford a membership to te nearby YMCA to use their equipment. What can I do around the house, with a newborn to take care of and and my hectic school/family schedule? Between 2 kids here all the time, 3 step kids here part of the time, school and housework... I dont know when to fit it all in! I tell myself first thing in the morning and I will feel better for the day -- but as it is, I need my energy drinks to get going. Even though I know that eventually exercise CAN replace my Redbulls!

You might try Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home". They have them at Target, on amazon.com, etc.

I would invest in a treadmill. Check garage sales, craigs list or even friends who may be looking to get rid of one. Especially if you already know that running is your ideal goal for excercise.0

If I cant leave the house, I just go back to basics with some jumping jacks, lunges, kicks, boxing jogging in place. Or just turn up the music and dance!0

Dancing is always a fun way to burn calories, and so is swimming i think (though you might not want to do that at this time of year)0

everytime i get my baby out of bed i do 20squats holding him.Babys are great weights and as your muscles get stronger they are getting heavier, so you can only improve! I also do about 3 sets of 20 lunges each leg (static lunges, side lunges etc) holding him per day. Other exercises you can do are crunches while baby is lying on you. i started doing these at about 6 weeks post partum it was very hard at first but now my tummy is almost better than it was before baby, start with only a few a day 2,3,4,5 just whatever you can manage and you will get up there. Do lunges while vacuuming, wash the floors on your hands and knees - all good things that will easily add up during the day. friend me if you like i have a few others tips like this that i have been doing. All of these are spread out throughout the day. If you are breastfeeding still, that will help - i lost 25kg through breastfeeding alone.
Edited to add:
try these 16 ways to lose weight doing chores! some are funny but trying to be realistic when you have so much going on - easier to just multitask Do your strength training while cleaning!

I love the Leslie Sansome "Walk at home" cd's. I have several. You can do the one mile which takes about 15 min. or additional miles if you have the time. You can also customize the work out for your level.0

I was counting on breastfeeding to help -- but I am still 12 pounds over pre baby weight... and want to lose at least 30. I'm not really breastfeeding too much anymore, since he was eating all the time but not gaining weight. I'm going to add you and take all the hints you have!0
