I told my mother that I really wanted a HRM for Christmas. She asked me what kind was the best to get , and I told her I had no clue. I just really want one that also counts calories that you burn during your exercise. Of course she told me to ask Myfitnesspal what they thought, so any suggestions???

I have a Polar FT7 and it's great. It tracks your heart rate zone, calories burned and all kinds of other things. I wear it for all my workouts now - yoga, elliptical, hiking and home DVDs. Any Polar HRM will make you very happy.

I am looking at the PolarFT4T I or FT7 asked for the same for xmas. They run between $60 - $75 on amazon. I am trying to locate them locally to see how easily they can be programed. The Elipse was also recommended to me but its over $100 and the Garman which is over 200 and geared for bikers and runners. Alot of it depends on what you want to do with it and what your future plans for yourself.

I also have an FT4 after buying another type first. I returned the first one and am so thankful I got the FT4! Totally worth it. Found out MFP was way lower than what I was actually burning!!
