Another 30 day shred question

In the program it says to do it every day for the 30 days just do level 1 for days 1-10, level 2 for days 11-20 and level 3 for days 21-30. My question is.... Are you really supposed to do it every day? I have been commented on other sites that that is not good for muscles that they need a day or 2 break to heal from each workout. What are your thoughts? Jillian can't be wrong if we do this, right? She is a personal trainer herself as some of those that made the comments to me?

On one of her pod-casts Jillian said that she never meant for you to do it everyday. instead every other day with cardio on the off days. This gives the body time to heal between the intense 30DS workouts. :) I burnt out before learning this information this month. I am starting again tomorrow and WILL make it through the program!

    Good luck!
  • I'm in two minds about this also.. I really think it depends. If you're already quite athletic and used to doing calisthenics then the 30DS wont break down the muscles very much; however, if doing 12 pushups is making you shake and nearly collapse then you're in the bodybuilding rep range and doing it for 2 sets if i remember correctly... I would suspect that requires a break. Also the hand weights could potentially break down your muscles if you're not used to the exercises.

I guess what i'm saying is it depends on the person. I wouldn't push myself too hard because one injury can spell disaster... what's the point in snapping something? If you're already used to calisthenics and light dumbell reps then fire away and enjoy the burn
