Ok today was a fun day at the gym. My trainer had me do squats on the BOSU with the round side on the ground. Well I have a hard time with my balance period. While trying to stand on the BOSU i flipped and fell on the floor. LOL it get me going through out work out. I wish there was a camera recording me because I'm sure it was a funny sight. By the way I was not injured unless I don't feel anything now but until tomorrow. Have a great day!

don't worry about that! that's nothing compared to my ultimate blooper.

first year of college, circa 2001. brought my discman to the gym with the huge around the waist fanny pack. started on the treadmill...and of course, college gyms are THE place to see and be seen. so looked down to skip tracks and lo and behold, i found myself on the floor, next to the treadmill. my pride (and knees) bruised, i wasn't gonna let that stop me. got right back on, and 10 minutes later, was on the floor again. OUCH. didn't get back on a treadmill to jog (hands free, as opposed to walking while holding on), IN PUBLIC, for another 8 or so years!

Sometimes I use farts to punctuate each rep of a weight lifting set.

This always helps get the last rep out on squats or Leg press. I think the last time that happened to me was like 12-13 years ago though.

Hahaha! Y'all are a mess! Thanks for sharing! I haven't done anything embarassing... yet. But luckily there's still time!
  • for the life of me, i've never been able to have the proper coordination for the "irish setter" move where you are on all fours, and alternate sticking your left hand straight forward and your right leg straight back at the same time, and alternate left leg and right arm. i almost always fall. my balance is terrible, and i think it's one of the reasons why i only work out at home.

a couple weeks back I had my calf cramp up as i was on the Stairmaster.. I hoped on one leg but ended up falling off the back of the machine... landed on my feet though. I am pretty sure the embarrassment upped my calorie burn big time!
  • I ripped my pants doing squats once in highschool... didn't notice it until the boy I had a crush on pointed it out to me. I thought I looked sooo cool too... fortunately I was wearing my scooby-doo underwear.

I haven't had anything major happen yet *knocks on wood* (besides eating asphalt last winter while running, but no one was around to see, lol) ...BUT I feel it coming with my front squat/push presses. Those effers are the hardest lift exercise I've ever done and everytime I do them, I wobble a lot (thank god for clips).

Earlier this week there was a guy in the next squat rack over doing them too and when he was resting, he looked at me like he was very concerned and anxious for me, lmao. That's about how I feel when I'm doing them, lol.

In the privacy of my own home I was using a resistance tube, it slipped off of the end of my foot, snapped back and hit me in the eye! I screamed and put my hand to my eye, expecting to feel something awful because it seriously felt like my eye had exploded because it happened so fast that at that moment I didn't even know it was the resistance tube! I staggered to the bathroom to try and flush my eye with cold water to get it open again which took about 10 minutes. I was so sure I was going to have a black eye, but it just got swollen and very red!!

These stories are hilarious but it was makes us real and who care about embarrasment. It's what makes us grow.. granted we stick with work out!

I remember that.. and i totally thought of you the other day I tripped while out running and came SO close to faceplanting on the sidewalk. I figured I would have looked bad *kitten* like you! LOL

Okay here is one that almost kept me from returning to the gym. Spin class and the instructor tells us to go to the standing position. After about 20 seconds one of the pedals breaks off. It sheared right off at the bolt. Anyone who has done spinning knows that the pedals don't just stop on a dime. Luckily I didn't fall and was able to quick sit down while one leg is trying to slow the wheel down and the other leg is trying to avoid getting sliced open by the sharp metal sticking out of the crank arm. It was pretty demoralizing seeing how the reason I was there was to lose weight and I felt like a total fat *kitten* for breaking the bike.

lol, I have a tiny scar next to my eye from that fall. *bad *kitten* face* That being said, it's made me a bit more careful, lol.

This thread makes me smile. I use weights during my aerobics, small 5 pounders. Pulling my arms back once, I let go as I swung a bit too harshly and hit my friend in the foot. What's worse is that another time that same friend had another friend over bowling with us, and she was joking about how I threw the 5 pound weight at her. I got mad and swung around and ended up hitting her friend with the 10 pound bowling ball instead.

LOL Thanks for sharing! You know I'm laughing WITH you, right?

I've had a blooper or two.

Jump squats... I can do them but tried to go past failure and landed on my @*kitten*!

A while back before I knew when I reached my limit on on bench pressing, again, tried to go past failure without a spotter and the barbell w/weights got stuck on my chest. I was yelling at the nearest meathead, "Hey, YOU! Come over here and help me!" LOL

No shame in trial and error!

Let's just say I'm the most uncoordinated person ever.

When I was in college my sorority had these special chapter events (mandatory of course) where we did "fun" things together. One week it was Zumba. I tried my best to keep up and in the process proceeded to tangle myself up completely, hit both of my neighbors, dragging all three of us to the ground.

I have also been known to punch myself in the face doing any sort of martial arts/kick boxing based workout.

Reasons why I workout at home and why I don't do dance based anything.

Ha! I did this same thing a couple days ago, but off a treadmill. I thought I could gracefully get off to stretch. It wasn't so graceful.
