I would love to know more information on where exactly to take measurements-

Links to outside sites that include pictures might also be helpful :)

Thanks

Oooopsie! I been doing it wrong. I've been measuring my waist around my navel. And my hips around my hip bones.

Even though it says you should measure the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button, i always measure the largest part...the muffin top. I want to know if im losing weight there!!

waist-smallest part of your torso (not your belly button)
navel- at your belly button( do not confuse with waist)
hips- the widest part of your butt

I've always measured around the widest part of my hip bones too, that makes more sense to me than measuring around my bum lol.
If you're simply, measuring to track progress then it doesn't matter where you measure, as long as you're measuring the same area every time =)

That's a good site...I actually measure myself everywhere...LOL! My chest, my bra line, my waist, my belly, my hips, my thighs, my biceps....7 total.

Measuring in the exact same spot is the hard part for me.

I had a hard time to figure this out, so I used these are my measuring points:

    - boob: where my boob is the biggest, and I measure while wearing a bra
    - bra band: body circumference under my boobs. I have quite a bit of back fat pockets, and this helps me keep track of them;
    - waist: the narrowest part of my body
    - naval: belly button
    - belly: I measure my belly at the point where it sticks out the most from a side view.
    - hip/bum: the widest part of my body, which is where my but sticks out the most.
-thigh: widest circumference, and I measure it on both legs, because there is quite a big difference. Actually I hope to reduce that difference
calves: widest circumference of my lower leg. Is there any way to reduce those things?????
    - biceps: widest circumference on my upper arm . Again I measure this on both hand separately
    - lower arm: widest circumference on my lower arm
    - neck: just under Adam's apple

I measure all these once a month, sometimes less frequent. Seeing the decrease in measurement was the only thing kept me motivated while I experienced a 7 weeks weight plateau

I do the same as redheadmommy, i do pretty much everywhere, includiing both legs and arms. It is weird some measurements have moved a lot others have hardly moved at all, makes me shake up my work out and toning exercises to try and improve everything. People think i have lost more weight than i have, especially as my backside has gone down by 3 inch.

    Biceps both arms
    chest
    bra band area
Muffin top biggest point above my waist
    waist
    stomach again biggest point
    hips
widest point of thigh each leg
    just above the knee
    around centre of knee
    calves

I keep a spreadsheet and check each week .
