Can we make a pact?

I would like to propose a pact!

Can we make a pact to NOT drink our calories! I LOVE water and I drink it all day long. But, there are times when I want a nice warm something to make me feel good. However, with the holidays and all of those tasty drinks out there, I am learning that it's just not worth drinking away calories. Of course there are exceptions, but for the most part, can we make a pact?

I am sure we work far too hard to simply drink away calories. And trust me, I LOVE Starbucks! But, I have learned to go there and get black coffee or clear tea and then add things in myself.

To black coffee I will add stevia. And, on days when I am REALLY in the mood for something creamy I will add in a little nonfat milk and a little half and half. If I must have something with a little more flavor, sometimes I will add in a little vanilla powder.
At worst adding some dairy will set me back about 60 cals. Not bad for Starbucks!

To clear tea I will add stevia. Sometimes I will also add a packet of True Lemon, which tastes amazing. If I really want something a little sweeter, I might add honey.
The honey adds a few calories, otherwise everything else is calorie free.

Any more ideas for drinks?

I get pike place coffee with 2 shots of the skinny vanilla syrup then add skim milk and equal. Similar to your order, only with the vanilla syrup instead of the powder.

Not giving up my coffee! I make it at home for about 40 calories (coffee, real sugar, and either skim milk or So Delicious Coconut Creamer). If I get a drink at a coffee shop, I'll do a skim cappuccino with one real sugar (90 calories). They don't exactly break the calorie bank. Most of the calories in coffee drinks are from those dessert type drinks masquerading as "coffee". Whipped cream does not belong in coffee, period!

Stevia is allegedly natural but it has an awful taste to me. I can pick it out of any drink just like I can aspartame. In general, I don't drink too many calories, and when I do I save it for alcohol.

Sorry, I cannot partake in your pact! I do make smart drinking choices and do not over indulge...except on rare occassions. :noway:

    Thanks! For your ideas/opinions.

I can't drink any "diet" stuff, so those yummy skinny lattes and such are out! poop!

As for stevia, I have tried a new brand that leaves no aftertaste- PureVia. If you try it, let me know what you think.
