Refusing to go next size up!

For the most part of my 20's I had been a standard size 18 (Aus) and when I went up to a 20 last year, it went from a loose 20 to a comfy 20, I realised quickly I had to do something about it. Well I managed to lose 20kg getting down to a size 16. I have been sitting at a 16/18 for awhile now, even while I have slacked off and gained some weight back (no idea how much, but at a rough guess I would say about half = 10kg) but the real kicker was when last week my size 16 skirt and work pants started getting a bit too tight, where in the past I would have gone and bought the next size up and accepted I was gaining weight, this time I decided to take control and refuse to let myself get back to a size 20!
I have been back at it this week, only day 4 of eating relatively healthy, not anything strict or crazy, no diet, just cutting out the crap, and been to the gym each night, first night was 20 mins, second night 30 mins and a 20 min walk later, and last night 40 mins....I haven't pushed myself too hard, letting my body adjust back, still working out as hard as I could, dont get me wrong....and today, the skirt that I could barely get on or do up last week, it fit, nicely!!
I have decided this time around I am not weighing, not measuring, just going by how I feel health wise, energywise and by my clothes! And for me the satisfaction of already fitting into a skirt after a few days of making small changes, I feel good about being back on track!!

I wear a size 18 (US) and I had to get new black pants a few months ago and it was a size 20......and I freaked out but then I realized that black pants are made different and from different material. We're all on the same road.....I wanna get down to a "normal" size not a size 180

Been there!
I ballooned up 12 sizes from 32 to 44 - OUCH!
Each time I said that I'd just expand size to be comfortable - after all, I carry the weight well...lol
And then somebody snapped a picture....
Anyway, I am back down to 36 and heading all the way back where I started.
No more excuses!

Well done for achieving those changes again!
Similarly, I'm mainly motivated by refusing to go the next size up. Earlier in the year, I was the heaviest I'd ever been, but was more aware of the fact that my UK size 16s were getting tight and I refused to go out and buy size 18s. As well as the fact I was feeling uncomfortable at that size, and my blood pressure was high, I was having palpitations and aching knees.
I lost 17lbs before joining MFP and then stalled, remaining in a size 16, but considerably looser. Then after joining, I lost a further 11lbs and finally I'm in a very comfortable, slightly loose UK size 14.
Then my friend said something to me that made perfect sense! She was aware of how I am a serial yo-yo dieter and mentally allow myself to go up to a tight size 16, and suggested quite simply that now I'm in a size 14 and feeling obvious benefits from it, why dont' I make this my new limit, and if the size 14s start to feel tight, do something about it then, rather than going into the next size and feeling all the health problems I had before. It totally makes sense to me, and 2 months on, I'm still in the 14s and my weight is steady. I don't know why I haven't done this before!0 -
Thanks all for your comments! Yeah thats what I figure 16 is my new limit for now, as opposed to the 18, and hope to work down eventually baby steps!! My other main motivator is just pure health!! I was feeling amazing and looooved the gym and exercise and being active, just got derailed for a bit for lots of different reasons!
Good luck all!! xx0
