Apparently it's winter now. What does one wear for a cold weather run without freezing to death? (the girls on my campus all seem to wear one layer of clothing...after losing weight, and being cold all the time...no bueno...)

multiple thin layers of clothes that are a "dri fit" or "wicking" material...that way you will keep from getting chilled. Lightweight running gloves (you can find them at a sporting goods or running specialty store). A headband, also made of wicking-type material, or a hat, depending on how cold it is. Smartwool or dri-fit socks...

You should be a little chilly when you first step outside for your run, but you don't want to overdress because then you will get overheated too quickly.

I hate cold weather, but I love running more than I hate the cold...so I have run in temps as cold as 25 degrees so far this year...and sure to run in colder since the temperatures are dropping here in Colorado :)

Like the poster above me says, layers are where it's at! And stay away from cotton.

    Layers.
A wicking base layer, a warmer layer(s) and a jacket that blocks wind/water. You can get wicking layers fairly cheap at many places. The warmer layer doesn't have to be expensive either. You can buy warmer running jackets, but I just stick with my regular wind breaker style running jacket and layer under it. At first, I just started with hoodies and long sleeve running shirts but now am slowly building with good stuff.

I also invested in a pair of running tights last year. I avoided them because of how they looked, but had to borrow a pair during a race in the winter. They were so much better I don't care what I look like.

Hat and gloves/mitts. I don't have a fancy hat yet, just a regular toque. I use those cheap stretchy gloves most of the time, but have mittens for colder days.

Under Armour Cold Gear is amazing. Light and warm and if it is really cold gloves and ear coverings (dang short hair) I run in all kinds of weather, I hate the dreadmill! Another runner told me once it's not bad weather conditions it's bad running gear.

An addition to the "layer" comments: you might also consider arranging your running course in "loops" or a "figure 8" pattern so you are not too far away from home, your car, etc if running alone. That warm running gear doesn't work so well if you twist an ankle and have to walk back.
