Needing more motivation!

Hi All.
I have a problem with lasting motivation; I always have. Every new job, school, exercise plan, etc., I am super excited about for the first 4-5 months, but then I lose interest. I start slacking off and not caring. As far as exercise goes, it's happening right now.
I hired a trainer in June, started running in late July or August, and joined MFP shortly thereafter. I changed my diet a few times until I figured out what works for me. I'm down 17 pounds, 3% total body fat from 32% to 29%, and a couple inches all around. Most importantly for me, I'm down 1 1/2 sizes from a biggish 10 to a smallish 8. My goal is to get down to a size 6 and lose my belly by my birthday in March. My weight loss has slowed, but I'm ok with that. I care more about size than weight.
Here's the problem: Since Thanksgiving I've been entirely over working out. I trained really hard pre-Thanksgiving for my first 5k, running 12-18 miles per week, at the gym or running 5 days a week with double workouts 2x a week. Since Thanksgiving I've been to the gym twice for a total of 45 minutes and haven't run at all. I skipped the gym altogether yesterday even though I worked from home all day. I've rescheduled this week's personal training twice now. Staying on the eating plan has been fine so far, but I've quietly given myself permission to "splurge" on alcohol and sweets at upcoming holiday parties (which was not my intention pre-Thanksgiving). Part of it may be post-Thanksgiving blahs, but I've lost interest.
Worse, when I try on clothes and look in the mirror, I no longer see the weight (size) loss. I see a difference when I look at my comparison pictures from 9/18 versus 11/21, but it's just not enough on it's own to keep me going.
My personal training sessions are up this week and I have to make a decision whether to continue them. I know I should, because when things get busy it is the only strength training I do all week, and if I don't have someone I pay to work me hard, I won't push myself, or will stop lifting altogether. But right now I just want to give up and fall into my old blame game: I'm too busy, too tired, and the trainer costs too much (which is ridiculous, I pay my housekeeper more than my trainer).
Basically, my goals and my progress to date aren't enough to keep my going. Please, please send me some encouraging words and your tips to stay motivated!

You are half way to your goal!
I can understand about the loss of motivation, but your plan is working.
Just think in a few more months you will reach your goal, try to think how good that will feel.
It is OK to reward yourself with something at this point, you have done well but try to reward yourself with something that is not food related.
Also, try to think how you would feel if the slacking lead back to the biggish size 10.
Try to remember you are changing your lifestyle, and change is hard. You have been doing so well, just a bit more and you are there!0 -
come on sweetie! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! put down the wine, and start moving let me know if you need anything...message me!0
