Weigh in: Weekly or More/.Less often??

I'm just ramping up on my diet and haven't weighed myself yet. I've heard mixed things about weighing in - some say daily, some say weekly and some say somewhere between. What has worked best for you and makes you feel best about getting on the scale?
Thanks!

I weigh in the morning, on Thursdays and Fridays, after I go to the washroom and before I eat anything. I do this and take the lower weight of the two days in case of fluctuation. I used to weigh everyday but found the fluctuations would drive me crazy. This keeps me sane lol.0

Studies show people who weigh in daily, consistently, do better in weight loss but realize you will fluctuate several pounds so track the average to see the losses.0

When I first started I tried to wait for once a week but just couldn't, I would want to how I was doing after working out/eating right, etc. So then I would weigh myself at random times on various days and it was all over the place. So when I would be up I'd get discouraged. Then I started to weigh myself every morning before eating/drinking anything and doing as much 'business' as I could. I knew that there would still be day to day variations but doing it at the same time under the same 'conditions' worked for me. Now that I am down to my last 10lb or so I'm only weighing myself once a week just to make sure I keep on track since I know the (fat) weight will be very slow to come off now.0

Thanks everyone! Maybe I'll step it up a bit - I used to weigh myself every day (in previous health kicks) and I would get sad after seeing the scale go up a couple days in a row (or stay the same) I think that if I space it out I won't be so annoyed. hahaha. We shall see0

I agree with this. I've weighed in more this past week and shouldn't have. Yesterday I was all happy at being 222, and after a day of eating some processed pasta, now I'm 223. I could have saved myself the angst.0
