Exercise Goal Question

I know that exercise is always beneficial, and I try to get to the gym everyday.
For the past month, I've made it a goal to do 1 hour of intense cardio 5 days a week, but my work schedule has changed, so my gym schedule needs to change too.
Now, to the question:
When going to the gym, which works best for you:
a) Setting a goal of exercising for (x) amount of time, regardless of how few or how many calories you burn.
b) Setting a goal of burning (x) amount of calories, regardless of how much or how little time it takes.

I love to eat and I eat most (if not all) of my exercise calories.
I bought a heart rate monitor a few months ago so I go by how many calories I burn, not how long I'm working out.
I do what I like and add it all up til I get a number I'm happy to scarf down :drinker:0
