C25k and tabata

Hi all, I have just completed week 1 of c25k and added a tabata interval today after reading about it last night. I was just wondering if I should do the tabata on the same days as the c25k or on the off days? Can I do it everyday, does it matter?
I should add that I'm not fit, am not athletic, have a sedentary job and dislike most exercise! However I am enjoying both the c25k and tabata that I want to do them all the time! Weird!

The Tabata workout I've done kicked my tail up and down my living room; not so sure I would want to do that the same day I ran. If you think you can do it, go for it, but I would recommend doing them on different days.0

Tabata is basically a circuit training program, often using body weight. 1 minute of work and 1 minute of rest, multiple sets.0

Wrong. That is just an interval. Tabata is a negative rest interval of 20 seconds working as hard as you can, and 10 seconds rest going for 8 intervals. It was originally used in an experiment by Izumi Tabata on exercise bikes specially designed to work the participants at a very high level for those 20 seconds, sort of equivalent to working pretty much as hard as you can. A true tabata would need to use the same equipment, so it would be more precise to call it a Tabata type workout. Either way I would not do it on the day you run.

Ok thanks.
I was going to use tabata intervals for sprinting on the treadmill and weights. Although I'm not sure how I would go about using it for weights. I'll have to read into that more.
Would I get the heaviest weight I can handle and do as many reps as I can in 20 sec or hold form for 20sec?0 -

You need to use a weight that is light enough to maintain good form while doing as many reps as you can. You also want the number of repetitions to be consistent from interval to interval. If there is a big drop off as you progress through them you are using to heavy of a weight. A good exercise to do with weights is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peLFTePbfDQ0
