okay, im watching a zumba commercial and they say everyone can do it. Id love it for a recovery day, but im the most left footed, no coordination, cant dance person alive (i did the lawnmower/sprinkler combo at prom). What im asking, for us dance challenged folks, is there even a point to getting zumba?

Yes go! I am a rubbish dancer and so are most people there, but nobody cares as everyone os having to much fun to care what the person next to them is doing! I go the wrong way all the time and just laugh along with all the other people going the wrong way too!!

Enjoy your first class its great!
  • My gym has a Zumba Gold class, for beginners and seniors and those with left feet, I'm going to try it because I am all of those things, lol. Maybe your gym has something like it? <dancing away>

So worth it. I have no coordination and have a blast. If you get the videos, they always tell you to go at your own pace and just concentrate on doing the moves properly. I'm slower than the people in the videos, but I am sweating my butt off and the next day I am burning in all the right places. lol

    Have fun, enjoy it..
  • I'm not the greatest dancer either, but I recently started doing Zumba in the mornings with my sister in law and I like it! It is only my first week of doing it and I still need to do the beginning moves DVD, but it is so much fun! Even if it's tough at first, it does get easier and a HUGE plus to Zumba is that you're having so much fun that you don't feel like you're working out. Have fun and good luck!!!

I figure, if you're moving, you're burning calories, even if you're doing the moves wrong.

But they do the same thing over and over for each song, so it's pretty easy to eventually pick up through repetition. Just go!
  • I do my Zumba workouts at home and kick my family out of the room lol.
