A great title for a study “Intolerance of Sexy Peers” - Study by T. Vaillancourt, with scientific measurement on a “*****iness scale”, summarized here. Sample sizes are small (46 treatment, 40 control), but effect size is massive.

This is a study from a research journel "Aggressive Behavior". After reading the abstract at the start of the article I had to read the whole thing.

HA- whomever funded the study could have given me the money and I could have TOLD them the same thing. Shoot - could have even provided empirical evidence from the local bar...

I am curious though - when did terms such as "sexy-fat" and "beotchy" become scientific?

may be in the journal - but you don't have to look far to find poorly designed experiments that are sensationalist. You have to raise an eyebrow to any experimenter that would define the categories the way they have. There is obvious researcher bias and that's evident in the 1st experiment measuring the responses by observational data coding. - their methods seem so subjective and - lol not going on - obviously been reading way too many journals today hehehe - it did give me a chuckle though.
