I am 120lbs today! I think the last 5lbs took 3 months
Last February my husband and I took our kids for a walk by a lake near our house. We walked two miles and I thought to myself "wow, that wasn't that hard, I could do this by myself and maybe lose some weight." I started the next day with two miles 6 days a week. About two weeks in I started to watch what I ate.
By the 4th of July I had lost 30lbs, was up to 5miles a day and I found MFP. Since then I've lost 15lbs more, started (slowly) running, doing more intense cardio and strength training.
So today I'm 120lbs, down from 165lbs. A size 2P-4P from a 12P. (I'm just under 5'3")
Current measurements:
Hips - 34
Waist - 27
Bust -34
My body fat % as of this morning is 21% down from nearly 40%!
Advice - if you have start slow, start slow! 2 miles walking left me winded at first but I COULD DO IT. I've learned so much about myself on those walks and I still make an effort to have a good 5 mile walk every week, although my cardio is crazier these days
Forgive yourself, a bad day does not ruin all your work, this is for the rest of your life and you cannot live the rest of your life without ice cream so make room for an occasional splurge.
Ok that's all I have I'm sticking around (probably FOREVER) and working on my strength and endurance but I wanted to bask in some congrats for myself and try to inspire some people who are just beginning...there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.
Ok, edited to add pictures...this morning (not a great picture sorry!) and my sister's wedding where I was not even at my heaviest.
