I joined MFP and started losing weight when last ski season ended because I thought that would be when I would have the time and energy to really focus on it. So between ski seasons I have lost 54 pounds. When I went out to the ski hill and taught my first skiing lesson of the season today, I was really noticing how much more flexible I was, how much less winded I was getting climbing the bunny hill with my student, how my feet never started to hurt like they did last year, and in general how much lighter on my feet I was feeling. I am definitely in the best shape I've ever been in, and I'm definitely feeling it when I'm teaching!

After that lesson, though, I spent the afternoon skiing with some of my ski instructor friends. At the end of the day, one of them watched me as I was skiing and told me that my whole skiing style has changed. She said that I look more relaxed and fluid on the ski hill and that she already sees my skiing improving significantly from how I was skiing last winter. It totally made my day! So much so that when another ski instructor expressed concern for my health because of all the weight I've lost since she last saw me (wondering if I had cancer or anorexia or something), I just laughed. What an awesome day!
