Hi

I have lost 29 kgs since April 2010. About 6 months ago I had a couple of months off where I was eating between 1800 and 2600 gross calories. I think my body needed a break from losing and at that time I was into very heaving lifting & intense exercise. 6 weeks ago when my fat loss stalled I started to eat at 1800 gross. I have been extremely successful eating between 1800-2000, losing cm's and scale weight. However the last 2 weeks have been hard and I want to eat more again and have been eating more. My body needs it. So I've decided to have another 4-8 weeks of eating at or just below maintenance. Eat in the low 2000's.

All along I keep reminding myself that this is a marathon for me. There is no end time, there are no rules about how long it needs to take! The extra food will also put my training into another dimension like it did last time with a heap more energy to totally go for it. I just started hill sprints and my new weight lifting program in 2 weeks will consist of heavy lifting once again.

I am quite excited about this!! I'm hovering between 62 and 63.5 kg atm and my goal was to get to 58 kg's by April 2012 but I've decided why should there be a cut off line! Although it is good to have goals. Afterall this is a lifestyle change. So for the next 4-8 weeks I will focus on fitness goals, keep track on my pb's. Then when I am ready again I will go into my next phase and start losing again. I think this is sustainable for me.

I remember last time I lost weight back in 98 I lost it all in one hit, I didnt stop to have a rest but I guess that was also because I had less to lose. This time I'm needing to lose around 33 - 35 kgs so I think it could very well be an important strategy for me.

I'll continue to weigh weekly just to keep an eye on things and with 2 monthly measurements.

I would love to hear others who have done this/are doing this!!
