Worried about hubby!!!

My husband is 6'1'' and started out weighing about 225 this summer. After some crazy stuff with his health, he decided to start eating clean, and losing weight. First, I want to give some information about his health (which doctors still cannot find the cause for). He had to have his gall bladder removed back in April because he came home from work one day and he was REALLY bloated. After some testing they found his gall bladder was only functioning at a 3% and the lowest a doctor likes to see is around 30%. He started gaining weight after that and went from 200 to 225, when he started having problems with what we though was his heart. After a bunch of blood tests, they found his cholesterol and triglycerides were EXTREMELY high. His C was 563 and his T was 1200 something. The doctor put him on Vitorin and told him to take fish oil. He started eating really healthy, and went back for blood work 4 months later only to show the numbers had increased. His C was 647 and his T was 3500 something. Stumped, the doctor ordered more in depth blood work and sent him to a specialist who though they knew what was wrong, but the only thing missing was that my hubby wasn't diabetic. They sent him for a diabetic testing and found he was NOT diabetic. They haven't really messed with anything since then (frustrating, but we've been to 6 different doctors and none of them can understand why a 29 year old has this kind of numbers). After the last testing, he was told to take krill oil. We changed his diet again, more intense, and he started losing weight. At first, he was ecstatic about it. However, after his last check up a week or so ago, the doctor told him to stop losing weight when he weighed in at 200 lbs. Since then, he has lost another 10-13 lbs (depending on the time of day) with clothes and shoes on! He works in the oilfield and is very active, but he feels like he is losing some of his muscle mass. After his doctor told him to stop losing the weight, he noticed he was losing still and started eating some junk food, but the weight is consistently coming off of him. He is now barely eating any healthy food that we put him on (keep in mind we don't eat unhealthy to begin with) and still losing!! Anybody experienced anything like this, or have any suggestions?????

Has he been tested for Graves disease or hyperthyroid? That would certainly cause a weight loss...
I am not sure about the cholesterol, though...
As frustrating as it is, I would try another Doctor -- maybe one affiliated with a research hospital or in a major city.
Good luck -- and I hope you get the help he needs!

Hmmm....I wish I had something to really say to this, but I don't. The only thing I can say is to maybe put the weight second in line rather than an indicator. There probably is something that isn't being found, but maybe there's not, but I'd not put the weight as a problem unless it's causing him severe issues, such as if he loses an extraordinary amount in a short amount of time. Also, I'd go to a doctor to see what KIND of weight he's losing. Take measurements. See if it's water weight, muscle mass, or body fat. That would tell a lot about what may be going on and would be important to find out.

I'm sorry you are worried about your hubby. Also, my only suggestion would be to consult another doctor.
