No time to exercise

I have a very busy schedule between work, kids (I have a 2-1/2 year old and a 2 month old) and pets, I barely have time to hop in the shower every day. Does anyone have good suggestions for exercises I can do if I only have a few minutes to spare? Something high intensity so I burn more calories...
Also, is there a way to account for the fact that I breastfeed? I know that makes me burn like an extra 500 cals a day, but I don't know if I can log it on here.

You can split this up throughout the day when you have spare minutes! Hope it helps as a starting point

You could also get creative and add some tabata stuff in there (20 sec on, 10 sec off - 8 rounds... you can do it for air squats or jumping lunges, etc)0 -
Doing 40 jumping jacks, then 30 crunches, then 20 squats, and then 10 pushups burns 100 calories and literally takes 2-3 minutes. If you did it 5 times a day you would burn more calories than most workouts0

I was also going to suggest that you split exercises up throughout the day. Glad that you have even been given a site to go to. Your baby is adorable !!!!0

I do all high intensity quick workouts at home. One of my fave exercises (and the one I would recommend if it's all you have time for) is Burpees.
Or sun salutations in yoga. It works every muscle in your body, but it's a very short routine.

Thank you :-)
He's 2 now, but that's the most recent pic of me that I'm comfortable posting as of yet.0 -

Ugh. I hate burpees. We did those all the time in the military. They're a great workout though. How many do you do at a time?0 -

I spent YEARS AND YEARS uninformed. Only recently do I feel like I'm starting to figure it outNerdFitness is a great resource! I'd recommend subscribing - they'll send you 3 emails over the course of a week with "mission" of recommend readings to get you started.

It looks like a good workout. I think I'll try it starting tonight after work.0 -
I thought there was a way to log breastfeeding but I can't seem to find it. I only did a quick search.
You can add a custom exercise and name it breastfeeding if you like.0 -
Breastfeeding is logged under food, not exercise. (Its a negative calorie, don't worry)0

Ahh, I knew it was somewhere, but just checked under exercise.0 -
You can find the time! I work full time and am a single mother to 4 kids.
I wake up an hour earlier now to exercise before the kids are up, I do exercising that includes them like walking, dancing, and swimming, or I do something like Jillian Michaels while they are watching tv. And I take time that used to be spent cleaning, watching tv, etc. and I use it to exercise.
It takes effort, but if I can do it, so can you!0 -

When you look up breastfeeding, make sure you find one that gives you more than just the extra calories: extra fat, carbs and protein are crucial so that your production doesn't rob you of your nutrients.
I found one that gave 300 calories and something like 15 g of everything else and it's been working for me.

You can do jumping jacks when you have a couple of free minutes. If you stop and do jumping jacks for one minute every hour you can burn around 100 extra calories a day. Keep in mind you have to do them vigorously, not just do 20 or 25 and account that for the full minute.0
