hi all! i'm still pretty new to mfp. my big q on calories is how to calculate for homemade foods, particularly those with multiple ingredients? we're a family of 5 so i make dinner for us most nights.
for example i made a santa fe egg bake: eggs, shredded cheese, milk, canned black beans that have been very well rinsed, canned whole potatoes (rinsed) and then "fried" in smart balance. all layered and mixed and then baked in the oven.
same for a homemade version of chicken alfredo with pasta--milk, butter, salt, pepper, flour....
i just don't know how to figure it out or add to the site database or figure out any of the nutritional info.
any suggestions?

Hello! There is a great site - caloriecount.com, I believe. I just googled "recipe analyzer" and it popped up. You put in your recipe and serving size and it does it for you. GREAT thing!0

you have to add up the nutrition for all of the components and divide that by the serving size0

www.nutritiondata.com. You can analyze your foods and it gives you everything - calories, carbs, fat, potassium, protein and way more than we enter in here - it even rates them based on how good the food is for weight loss, weight gain, health. Pretty cool. I make most meals, too, so I use it alot! :bigsmile:0

thanks for all the resources!0
