How long before you started to really see results?

I was just wondering how long people on here worked out for before they saw results like catching their breath much faster and running up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath.
I'm already noticing that I'm catching my breath faster after I finish working out and I've only been at it a month. Although there's a flight of about 5 stairs I walk up at uni that I'm still slightly out of breath from at the top.

Also are there other daily activities anyone has noticed get easier after working out?
