Sensa?

Has anyone tried it? I'm not looking for replies about throwing money away, eat right and all that. If you have tried it and had results, good or bad I would like to know. If you haven't tried it, but thought about it, maybe this will help you too.

For the others that haven't tried it and are just going to post throwing your money away, this post isn't for you.

I actually have it but I never remember to use it. But when I do it really works. I don't know how but even if you want to eat more, you really are "too full" to do so. I just don't find it convenient to use consistently.
  • I've been doing it for three months and it definitely works. I feel fuller so much faster. It is kind of annoying and inconvenient to whip out and sprinkle every meal, but well worth it. However, I'm beginning to wonder if it's only just the placebo effect at work here - My brain is convincing myself I'm fuller, not my olfactory glands that Sensa claims to give credit to.

I had them stop shipping me Sensa just due to the fact it's SO EXPENSIVE (I'm a poor college student) and yes, it works, but if it's not just a placebo, smaller portion sizes are something that are simple to learn and I feel like it's all in the mindset.

In conclusion, yes, Sensa DOES work, but if you don't want to throw a lot of money into it each month, some tips that provide the same results:

    - Drink lots of water before and during meals (between each bite)
    - Use smaller plates/utensils (trick the brain into thinking you're eating more)

    Good luck! :)

As a cheaper alternative to this or those "right size smoothie" type products, I have always heard you can eat an apple and drink a full 8oz of water about 20 minutes before a meal. The fiber helps fill you up. Then when it comes time to eat your meal you are satisfied with smaller portions. And it is much healthier for you too. Just an idea if this product is too expensive.

I think it works to make you feel fuller quicker. It may be that because you are using it, you are reminding yourself what your goals are all the time. The only problem with it is that sometimes I forget to "sprinkle" until halfway throiugh my meal.

I bought mine as a 6-month package, which wasn't too expensive - less than Weight Watchers for a month, at least. They send 6 different sets of "tastants", one for each month (to prevent plateaus). If you sitll want to lose after the first 6 months, you just start over with Set 1 and so on.

As I said, if you use it consistently and combine it with what you are doing on here, I think you will have success. Someone suggested eating an apple and drinking a glass of water 30 minutes before you eat a meal. I have a problem with that - when I am hungry, I forget to do that too!
  • Mom got it for us to try and it did make me feel full but not sure if that was the whole power of suggestion thing. Also I think it may have been affecting me weird... like when I did take it, I would get pangs in my sides but NO ONE has ever said that before so I guess it could be something different that was causing that. Either way, I've stopped taking it. I'm just gonna stick with drinking butt loads of water. lol
