Hi All, My name is Celeste i am 25 years old and live in South Africa, I started exercising and watching what I ate about 3/4 months ago ( I didnt go on diet, just stopped junk food, sodas ect....) I was 158 lbs before I started and am now 141 lbs, the only prob is that I have been 141 lbs for weeks now and just cant seem to drop, i skip at home and have started skipping more but nothing seems to be working, any ideas to why this is happening & what I can do to sort this out. Please add me as a friend if you keen, i always find it easier to lose weight when there is a group of you motivating each other. Thanks

Welcome. It sounds like you're doing well. Sometimes you'll plateau for what seems like a long time and then your body will start shedding weight. Some people like to "zig zag" their calories--consume less for a few days, then more for a few days. I have a personal trainer who strongly believes in one "blow-out" day a week, so that your metabolism doesn't slow down. So I try to stay below my calorie goal for the first 3 or 4 days of the week, then have one or two blow-out days, and still stay below my weekly calorie goal. I've been plateauing sometimes, too, but I just keep at it. I've got 90 lb gone and a lot to go. Also, when I work out harder for several weeks, sometimes my weight doesn't change but my waist gets smaller and I feel stronger. Muscle weighs more but it also burns many more calories, even when at rest, so in the long run the workouts are the right thing to do. Hang in there.

    Hi there!

It just may be where your body is comfortable. Sometimes our eyes and brains don't agree with our bodies. Sounds like you're getting in shape though and that has a lot to do with how we look more then weigh.

If I'm wrong or you're determined, you may want to start planning your food, weighing, etc. to keep within your allotted calories for the day.

    Regards!
