...I'm usually in the house by the time the wife has her car door closed...

My car is extremely low to the ground so I have to do a barrel roll type maneuver to get out quickly. I'm used to it by now, but I always get a kick out of watching my passengers struggle.

Maybe she's waiting for a gentleman to open the door for her?

(For the record, I don't wait.)

We have to get all our stuff together, make sure nothing rolled out of our purses, our cell phones are in there, our make-up hasn't mysteriously crawled out of our purses while we were driving, etc.

    DUH!

it is probably due to trying to carry the bag that holds an extra wardrobe, a bag for work stuff, a bag for makeup and maybe a gym bag. OH, and a pocketbook.

Even then it still takes 30 seconds.

If you're standing there holding the door you should be able to see for yourself what's taking that long.

I don't delay unless going somewhere special - then I'll double check the mirror 1st, yep, vain.

It depends on how badly I feel like irritating someone waiting on me.

Because we are saying a prayer to thank God for us still being alive after riding in the car with the men in our lives. :flowerforyou:

It doesn't take me 15-30 seconds to get out of the car. I'm usually out of the car as soon as its in 'park'. I'm always in a hurry and running behind, sometimes I've been in such a hurry that I forget to turn the car off and have left the engine running and the doors locked.... :ohwell:

My car is low....I kind of just fall out of it...it's a process and I've mastered it.

Anyone who drives with me however....they take that long to get out because they aren't use to driving on the ground.

It's our finishing school education. Keeping out knees together while alighting so no-one sees our knickers takes some serious deportment training.

Well, I look around the car to make sure I grabbed everything (I still forget things in there though all the time so maybe I need to stick around another 10 seconds), I fix my clothes because they're all wrinkled from sitting, I look at myself in the mirror, and then I'm ready.

So true, Berry! We are also waiting for the gentleman to come and open the door for us, and waiting for him to at least offer to carry the shopping to the house, instead of assuming that we will do everything.

I have the car turned off, doors opened and 1 kid out of his car seat by the time my wife takes her seatbelt off.

What? It takes me a second. I don't even understand why it would take anyone more than the time it takes to unbuckle a seatbelt...

Well I have never timed it....but I am pretty quick out of the car. Its my Husband who is a snail. I've jumped out and gotten three kids out before he even has barely taken the key out of the ignition.

    .......oh wait....I get it.......

It would be easier if my car weren't so little. I have to pull myself UP out of the car rather than just stepping out. Plus I have to have my keys, phone, purse, ETC in my hands...

Can't say I've ever noticed that women take more time than men. It's usually grab the purse, and open the door for me.

I don't take the time to adjust my britches, check my makeup in the rearview mirror, put all the crap I've removed from confines of my purse while I'm driving back into my purse, grab my Timmy's coffee, groceries list say a short prayer to get me through a shopping spree at the grocery store during holiday season ... and plant my feet firmly on the ground and go.

I don't do any of that stuff .. except for the mini prayer part .. The grocery store is a scarey place to visit these days!
