Hurry up and wait

Why can't the pounds just fall off over night? I am the most impatient person I know, which always leads to my demise with weight loss. I have tried everything to keep myself from weighing everyday, sometimes several times a day, but I can't seem to get away from the scale. I'm thinking of putting it in my basement and bringing it up once a week to weigh-in. Out of sight, out of mind....at least, I hope!
Anyone else struggle with excessive weigh-ins and impatience? What do you tell yourself to stay motivated?

You didn't gain overnight so you have to give yourself time. The best way is "slow and steady".
Good luck and put the scale in the trunk of your car. :drinker:0 -
I actually do the same thing. I constantly weigh in and think it should change from one hour to the next.lol0

I ended up spending way to much on a very accurate scale that can show even small weight loss. Now I can weigh in every morning and see results several times a week.
but that is probably not the best solution.0 -
Don't worry I'm sure a lot of ppl are guilty of the same thing, I AM! I know I shouldn't, because it can fluctuate day to day, but I'm always curious if what I did the day before made a difference. I won't weigh if u don't weigh until next Monday. I know what I was today, but I won't let the scale control me this week ---I CAN WAIT & SO CAN U--DEAL? What is comes down to my dear is: 80(diet&nutrition)/20(exercise) GOOD LUCK, I know it works, it has gotten me this far even if it has been a slow progress!!0

Yes, let's keep on each other about not weighing in until Monday. I will be honest if I slip up, but I want you to be on me like white on rice over this.0

I too weigh in too frequently, but agree that slow and steady is the best way and it didn't not magically appear.... my Wii Fit Plus actually YELLED at me one week because I had lost too much too fast. The faster you lose the more likely you are to gain it back (just look at some of those contestants on television)
I weigh in on Wednesdays (gives me a couple days to bounce back if I've been bad over the weekend) :ohwell:
Good luck!0 -
I like to weigh in every morning. I know you are not supposed to...but first thing I pee and weight in LOL I do it cause If I gain, it can be like 4lbs in a day! So I really check more for gaining than loosing... or at least that is what I tell myself0

I weigh once a week. If I didn't, then I would get discouraged and drive myself insane. I am also starting to notice I look forward to weigh-in day. If I did it all the time, then it wouldn't be "special".0

I weigh in daily just to keep tabs on myself. It is also a reminder to make healthy choices during the day (ie. skip that dessert; don't indulge in chips.... )0
