tired of being accused of being pregnant...

Not that I wouldn't LOVE to be pregnant, but its a double slap, when your trying and not pregnant, but have been asked several times, what's your due date, Oh, your having another one, or when a 5 year old (innocent) says, well why does your belly look like that then. Somethings gotta give, I have got to figure this out. I've been doing Jazzercise since May/June of this year, I've lost 15 lbs and maintained that loss, but I was on Phentermine at the time. Since then I've just been trying to watch what I eat, count calories, and exercise. Nothing is happening, not on the scale and not on the tape measure. I am thinking of doing a good breakfast, lunch, and a shake/meal replacement for supper. I just don't know...
I am going check out a new gym today that also offers classes like Zumba, Body Pump, Spin...maybe the change up will help. Suggestions?

I'm sorry. I don't even like preggo comments when I am preggo!! I am also the parent of a 2 year old who has recently started vocalizing the most embarassing comments: why is your stomach so big? where did your hair go? For every big mouthed little kid there is a parent thinking of duct taping their mouths closed permanently.0

Try Jillian Michel's 30 day shred, it works on inches not so much wt #!
Good Luck!0 -
Maybe you're not eating enough? That could easily contribute to a plateau. There's really no way I can give you advice though if I can't see your diary. Hang in there. Keep it up. The scale will budge.0

I will second the recommendation of starting the 30 Day Shred, it has some really intense ab workouts - I finished day 15 yesterday and just took my measurements to compare at the half-way point and I have lost 2 inches off my mom-belly already, along with several inches in other areas. :-)0

I've learned long ago not to make that comment/assumption.0

Zumba is probably the best exercise i can think off - the classes are so much fun and whizz by in no time. I've noticed a difference just doing one class a week so give it a try. Good luck!0

AMEN!!! Never assume ANYTHING!0 -
Even if you're sticking to your calorie goals, maybe it's due to the actual foods you're eating - last year at this time when I was still eating mostly processed, high carb stuff (Goldfish snack packs, chips, etc) even though I was still under my calorie goal and working out like a crazy woman, the scale didn't budge. When I switched to eating real food, and cut out the crap (literally), the weight started melting off. A good place to start reading about why not to eat crap is Mark Sisson's "Primal Blueprint" - his free website is: www.marksdailyapple.com
I agree though with the above - don't stop, keep going, and good luck!0 -
My wife is very slim, but my son still asked her that.
I think for some kids its a way of showing a level of understanding.0 -
Thanks everyone!!
I do think some of it is "what" I am eating even though I am under my calories. I am really going to work on this! Thanks for that site!
I have the 30DS DVD and have been wanting to try it again! I had knee surgery in March and I know Jillian loves her some jumping jacks, so I was afraid of all the jumping, but I think I am going to give it a whirl and see how I feel. I know my limitations.
Thanks again for the encouragement! I appreciate each and everyone's responses!0 -
Have you ever considered juicing since you have a knee injury and may be hard to work out? I replace a meal sometimes two with juices and it has helped a lot! You can check out the website jointhereboot.com
I juice veggies and mix in some fruits0 -
ps....my 3 year old has asked me if there is baby in my tummy again! Thats when I knew it was time to lose weight! :laugh:0

rocker...that is what I am considering doing now. I just wasn't sure what to do a meal replacement with yet. What you suggested sounds pretty good!!
My knee stays with fluid on it, and it hurts me, but I just push through because I want to beat this (being overweight). I had my meniscus removed, they took 2 of my hamstrings (you have 5 in each leg) and reconstructed my ACL because it was torn, and they also removed a piece of bone. So it was pretty invasive and may just need more time, but I must stay active!0 -
My knees bother me with some of the moves to - I would say anything that might bother you, just modify it more OR substitute in something completely different while they're doing that move. If you haven't gotten to Level 2 before, just know that the jumping moves get even worse and you may need to modify much more than you do in Level 1. She even does jumping movements while you're in a plank position on the floor. Some of it is MURDER on the knees if you're not aware of an issue ahead of time. I often sub in the squatting punches in places where they're doing too much jumping for my knees. Basically if it's a cardio move that bothers me, I pick a different cardio move and do that. If it's a strength move that's bothering me, I substitute in a different strength move until they move on. The program is awesome but if you need to do something differently to keep from getting injured, just do it. You could also JUST focus on the ab exercises if that's what you're most concerned with. Although the strength and cardio moves will help in that area, too.0
