Hey Everyone!
I'm Amanda from Detroit, MI. I'm new here and just wanted to give everyone a big hello!
A little background:
I've been overweight (and unfit) my entire life. At 192.6 (current) I'm probably at the same weight I was in 4ht and 5th grade (and I'm 26 - almost). I can't be certain how much I weighed back then but I was in a size 14 in 4th grade and a 22 in 6th grade. (But clothing sizes have shifted a bit in 15 years.)
I've always been uncomfortable with my body and ready for short term gratification. At my highest I was 260 and went on to lose 55 of those only to gain back 38 due to depression (death in the family).
At 238 I asked my doctor to prescripe something to help me lose weight. He prescriped Adipex which I took for 6 months and lost 22 lbs. While on the drug I was battling depression and stress and didn't watch what I ate at all.
Now I am at 193 and ready to do this the right way. I'm hoping fitnesspal can help since I've never really done getting healthy the right way.
My ultimate goal is 140-ish and to run a 5K.
Any advice, suggestions, or friends are appreciated.

You can do this! My weight has yoyoed a lot... I have kids and I weigh more then when I had them which is depressing, but you have to forget the past and just start today! Today I am going to watch what I eat... I love typing in the food b/c it not only holds me accountable butI want to have some calories left in the day for a yummy dinner with my family! In Detriot it's pretty cold but aim to do some exercies this week. If you don't want to hit the gym then how about Walk away the lbs video or the new Jillian 's work out ( she scares me!) I just walked and I feel better already! Take a deep breath and don't focus on the whole picture but just you making better choices today! Hope this helps and Iook forward to chatting with you more! :happy:0
