I really need to get on the ball with my workouts and watching what I eat and now with the holiday dinners, yikes!!!
I hear it gets difficult to lose weight, when you hit 40. I'm not sure if this is true or not???

@ Heidi, for sure
@ Merrick, happy blated 40th!! :happy:0 -
It seems to be easier the younger you are. I just turned 50 in November and its definitely harder than when I was in my early 40's. But I'm in better physical shape than I was when I was in my 30's.0

There's not metabolic clock that runs out on your 40th birthday. Chances are you are already feeling the effects of getting a bit older. If your 40th birthday serves as a visualization that motivates you to get moving, great - but your body will be what you make of it no matter what your age.

I think your brain is the only thing that impedes you as you get older. It wasn't any harder losing weight this time around than it was last time around when I was ten years younger! And ten years ago I didn't have this handy tool to track things and give me friends to keep me accountable. I'm 44.0

A typical person loses a little muscle mass each year. So the more years you have behind you, likely the less muscle mass you'll carrying with you. Of course, your increased muscle mass helps to speed your metabolism. More muscle = more burned calories per day. It is possible to overcome this loss in muscle mass, but it takes dedication, time and effort.0
