Poor Girl Eats Well

Just found this blog while trying to figure out what to do with leftover quinoa, black beans, and butternuts squash. I haven't delved too deeply but it looks pretty interesting. She shows prices per serving of some of her recipes and it looks like there is a link to what $25 of healthy food in a shopping cart can look like.

I am a big fan of Kimberly. That is where I was introduced to Quinoa. This is my fav recipe on there:

Like the look of the sweet potato and carrot puree, two veggies I always have in but always just roast.

I will have to show this to my friend. She seems convinced that you have to have money to eat healthy and thinks buying 3 boxes of poptarts and cookies a better way to spend her cash lol Thank you for the link!0

Wow this is so up my alley... I'm attempting to shop low budget while making all meals at home! I swear by emealz.com and I preplan all my lunches. I also French Press my coffee now. So my food bill hovers under about $500 a month for two people. That includes nonfood essentials and we never eat out so we save a ton!0 -
and what the hell does your picture say on the paper?? i cant read it...ive been trying to figure it out all afternoon...not cause im following you or anything...i swear
LOL, it's a pic from Double Down, The Happiest Place on Earth (locals bar in Las Vegas). It says "Merry Xmas Dammit" and the skeleton has a martini in his hand. I think you can seeenlarged it if you go to my profile.
Oops, never mind, not talking to me.0 -
