Adjusting calorie intake...weigh gain possible?

According to MFP my BMR is 1259....and my TDEE is 1700
MFP set me to 1200 net calories to lose 1 lb a week. I lost 7 lbs in the last 15 days staying around 1200 calories (I am sure most of it was water weight). However, I started doubting that it was enough calories for my needs---not to mention I thought my net calories should be HIGHER than my BMR. I have also read that most people need to raise their calories when they start getting closer to their goal.
So I adjusted my settings this morning with MFP to lose .5 lbs a week. I now have a net calorie of 1450. Do most people see a weight gain when they adjust/up their calories. Should I expect it, and if so how long til my weight will go back down? Thanks...
ETA: Should I have kept it at 1200. I am having doubts from raising it because I am scared I am going to show a weight gain tomorrow morning when I weigh in:sad: ...

i feel your pain i struggled to work out wat calorie limit is best for me i dont think u'll see a gain, just slower loss. if your still at a calorie deficient you shouldnt have a gain. you'd have to eat more than your maintance calories to see a gain.
having your net calories under ur BMR is ok if your acivity level is quite low because u need to have more calories out than in.0 -
Whenevery I adjust my settings to where I'm eating more, I sometimes see a small gain for a few days. There is that whole unpleasant to talk about bit with your body having more waste to eliminate...However, after a few days everything for me goes back to normal and I continue to lose weight at a slightly reduced rate.0
