Snacking at Work

I work in an office and unfortunately sit most of the day. Whenever possible I do get up and walk around. Anyways to avoid going to the vending machine what types of snacks are good to keep at work. I do have access to refrigerator and microwave if necessary. I am on a 1200 calorie diet.

I take fruits and veggies mostly, I'd be lost without my apples. Is that 1200 at all or net?0

apples, pre-portioned packs of nuts, clementines0

wow. that's tough. what is the thing about the vending machine that calls to u? is it the chocolate? is it something creamy? something sweet/salty/bubbly? attack the thing that's calling to u. for me, it'd be pretzels (if i worked in an office with a vending machine). so i might TRY a snack of p'nut butter (unsweetened pre-stirred adams, not a sugary kind), and apple slices already sliced. or celery. something that goes CRUNCH. and u know, u might guess wrong. but the next day u might be better at zero'ing in on what the craving is. maybe a nutrition bar?0

Not much of a chocolate fan. I guess its more of crunchy/salty or the nutter butters that call my name. LOL0

I always take baby carrots; I can snack on them any time I feel a little hungry. I also take apples and clementine or mandarin oranges. I keep a few cereal bars like Fiber One or Special K in my drawer in case I really feel empty. I usually bring something like strawberries or raspberries that I keep refrigerated and have it as my afternoon snack.
At my office, in my particular cubicle area, there was a woman who two HUGE bowls filled with Halloween candy the entire month of October. I pride myself on being a civilized individual; that's the only thing that stopped me from beating her to death with a baseball bat.0 -

This is a fun game! I have:
Natural yoghurt, normally with chocolate protein powder mixed into it
Hard Boiled eggs
Peanut butter (straight off the spoon)
Trail Mix
Chopped fruits or veges (Cherry tomatos and mango chunks are my current favs)
Cottage cheese (either with a teaspoon of honey mixed through or chopped chives on tops)
Toasted pita pockets, cut into triangles with fresh salsa
Oats and blueberries0 -
I work in a kitchen, and we're allowed free food, I've only eaten there 3x this year (all on my own time, and paid).
I prefer bringin my own food, I'll basically blend it all into a smoothie. I can adjust the flavor, calories and whatever else.
Bananas, yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, oats, peanutbutter, strawberries/blueberries, ...pretty much any/most of those with whatever flavor whey I have.
Usually works out to about 1000 calories I figure.0 -
i think fruit and veg like many ppl have suggested. i take a packed lunch that is mostly fruit and veg, with extras i can have as snack such as bananas, apples, peaches, nectarines, grapes, cabbage, carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatos, beans, capsicum....
also if your wanting salty maybe go for some healthier versions of salty snacks such as individual packets of popcorn, or rice crackers (the ones i have are only 70 cal) i dont have them every day but they are an option for you.
also i was given a tip once if its salty snacks ur craving have salted veggies!0
