Did I do that?
Yes, this post will have spelling and gramatical errors... lol
Hi Pals! I'm bored and just wanted to hear some opinions on this incident.
Yesterday, I was at the gym at my usual hour. I've been a member of this gym for about 3-4 years (I took 1 year off to do 'at home workouts'). Anyway, I rejoined last month... lol.
Their is this one guy that i've seen there for a couple years. We have never spoken, but we've had eye contact and have mouthed or waved "hi" (i always have my headphones on). I think it's just common courtesy to say hi to people who you see a few times a week. Anyway, he isn't my 'type', but he seems like a quiet guy, i haven't seen him speaking with anyone (I've seen him say hi to others, but not long conversations).
He usualy does some of the circuit machines and then onto free weights. I usualy get on the elliptical for 60 minutes and am out of there. BTW, i'm a people watcher and while on the elliptical, i'm glancing around, that's why i know what his routine is. amongst other people. lol.
Lately, I want to do more strength training and less cardio (love cardio). While warming up on the elliptical my headphones ran out of juice and i had to take them off. Well, I head over to do some circuit training. He had already left the area. While on one of the machines he comes from behind and says "How are you today?" It startled me because it was the first time i didn't have my headphones on... lol. he apologized for starteling me (sp) and went on to a machine. Well, I was on my last machine and while on my way out I passed by him and said "enjoy your workout". He says "I always enjoy my workout when I see you" me being the smartass that I am said "I'm glad I could help you out with that". Then he says "Are you coming tomorrow?" I said "Maybe". Huh???
Now I feel like I sent the wrong message. I don't want him to think that I'm interested. I'm not going back for a few days and hopefully our interaction will be as it was when I have my headphones on.
Did I flirt with the guy?

Yep. I think you might have flirted a little. No foul, though.
No one says you have to stare at the wall and not interact with others while working out.0 -
Yeah you flirted, but you liked it :flowerforyou:0

You flirted, but I doubt he's analyzing it as much as you are. :laugh:0

I think you are on the fringe of being friendly/flirting. No biggie.. you may have made his day just by talking to him.. at worst, you've made a new gym buddy.0

No! You unflirted
Nice word! I need to figure out how to do that because I flirt a lot. I'm pretty evenly split 50/50 flirt/bitch.0 -
Thanks for the responses all. :flowerforyou:0

All depends on who you're flirting with, I think ;-)0 -
Even if he saw it as flirting, you aren't obligated to act on it. Just be prepared to have an excuse if you think he's going to try and ask you out/ask for your number, etc. and you aren't interested. Or you could give him a chance, but since I don't know either of you, I don't know if that would be a good idea or not.0

It sounds like a friendly chat to me. No harm, no foul. You didn't offer up your phone number or ask for his or make plans for a date, etc.0

he was flirting. and you talked to him and probably made his day. there are ppl in the world who - i am convinced - are only there to flirt with when you're a bit down. casual flirting can make you feel ten feet tall. there's no commitment, no requirements. relax and have fun. you don't have to be into him, it's not a proposal, it's harmless flirting.0

You guys are right. It was innocent. No harm done.
@ Maab_Connor, I agree. :flowerforyou:0
