I've noticed lately that when I eat (good) food with more carbs I feel full longer and eat less throughout the day, as apposed to McDonalds cheeseburgers, frozen pizza snacks and what not.. That being said, does anyone have suggestions/ ideas for easy and quick healthy full foods? One of my biggest problems is I don't have patience to make food when I'm hungry, I grab whatever is convenient or what I can throw in the microwave.

  • Know what I've been eating lately? I buy these wraps from the grocery store, they're the brand La Tortilla. I get the ones with olive oil and they have 12g of fiber PER wrap, so that's a very good thing. You can fill them with whatever you like. I often use turkey, lettuce, tomato if I feel like cutting it up, and spread hummus on the inside of the wrap before putting anything in. It's VERY filling and very good for you!

clif bars are great on the go snacks although they aren't "clean". I keep one in my purse at all times. Do you have time to cut up and apple and eat it with some peanut butter? This is my after school snack every single day and it tides me over until dinner. Throw some protein in with those carbs!

My new go to snack is veggies dipped in hummus...I buy hummus on Sundays at our local farmers market and dip carrots, fill celery, or dip cucumbers in it and its totally filling!
  • I used to hate anything with beans in but that's now my rescue food when I need something filling quickly. I make big batches of chunky soup with beans then either refrigerate or freeze individual portions. I like cooking but when I'm in a rush and hungry I'll eat anything so it's safer to have things ready-prepared.
