Hello all!
I have a FitBit and like so many, sadly found the FitBit tracking program not all I need it to be, so here I am!
I am sure my story is something you've heard before. Been dieting for a good 20 years, and only really lost the weight once...it's been yo-yo ever since. I've skipped meals, counted calories, drank shakes, eaten bars, destroyed my knees and ankle working out too hard.
Over the last couple of years (after my bf observed what I wasn't eating with horror and encouraged me to eat more), I've managed to stablize my weight eating around 1700 calories a day. I've switched to mostly whole grains, and cut out a lot of sugar. I've been exercising very moderately, about 1-2 miles walking a day. I am still ~100 lbs overweight.
I have just found an eating program that makes sense to me, and matches up with what I've experienced. It's more than a bit of a leap of faith, and the plan is to work up to eating over 3000 calories a day. That's 3000 balanced calories.....tons of complex carbs (whole grain, veggies, fruit), little to no refined sugar, 20-30% from fat, and 10-15% from protein.
Of course, I set the manual goal here in MFP and it kind of tacitly implied I was nuts...as I'm sure many people will also agree! But I'm game to try....it sounds way more sensible than some of the diets I've been on!
Is there anyone else here at MLP that is trying to push themselves to eat more good food to lose weight? I'd love to get and give some support.
Thanks so much!
