Hey Xmas is here! I'm thinking of getting a device that helps me know how many calories I burn. I don't trust the machines very much (elliptical, stairmaster, etc).
I want more accuracy.
Any suggestions???

The Polar FT4 heart rate monitor seems to be really popular here. I have one and love it.0

I have the Polar FT7 and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. It was about $65 on Amazon - tracks calories, heart rate zones, keeps my training files history and much more. I found that MFP and the machines were too high in many activities and too low in others. I like not having to guess what I'm really burning anymore. I wear it for everything now - elliptical, hiking, yoga, at home DVD workouts, etc.
Any Polar item will make you very happy and I think the FT4 and FT7 are two of the most popular.
Whatever you get just be sure it has a chest strap - that's what makes it accurate. Without the chest strap, it isn't much more reliable than the machines.0 -
