The way it may have to be

Hey everyone , if anyone can help me on this it would be appreciated , today I did a step in the right direction.I went to Logans Roadhouse and had 2 rolls there with my dinner but didn't get any to take home like I usually do.It is really getting to me with the whole calorie counting thing.Unfortunately I am a drinker due to the job I do I drink everynight which is 5-6 nights a week but I don't on my night off.I don't think i'll ever be able to diet or cut anything out.I like food way to much.If I eat what I want long as it's not mcdonalds everyday which I don't like to eat there everyday anyways , think i'll be okay.I'm a size 9 now and just wanting a more trimmed stomach that don't stick out at all.Think by working out that should be enough? This is just getting to me but don't think i'll be able to make the lifestyle change , tried it and I just can't.I thought about a tummy tuck but figured why use plastic surgery to solve everything considering I already gotten one type of cosmetic deal recently.Any advice since I am one that don't wanna have to cut back? Thanks , however my goal weight has changed , wanna just get down to 145 and i'm 151 now maybe that will help you all give more accurate advice.

Let me tell you your first problem.
I can't.
If you really don't want to cut ANYTHING out, then you gotta work out a bit harder to burn off those calories!0 -
Can you try just logging everything for a week or so - without making any changes - to get an accurate picture of how much you take in? I wish I done this from the outset - tracked where I was so I could tell what was an improvement. Once you've got a good a idea of what your normal intake is, see where you could make some small changes that are manageable - simple things like not taking some extra rolls home, or having one less drink per night.0

Thanks and the thing is I definetly have no problem with working out extra harder to burn it off , i'd even be willing to use the abroller 5 days a week along with curves workouts and zumba workout dvd's at home!0

I'd want to know how much drinking your job requires. When people are fuzzy about quantity there, alarms go off that there may be a problem.
At 25 years old, you may be able to eat whatever you want and only be 5 lbs over your ideal weight, but if you continue to eat and exercise the same amount, you'll be 27 lbs overweight by age 50. And exercise doesn't get easier when you're 50, either.0 -
Hey , just 2-3 drinks if that , I don't drink large amounts0
-
Hi,
i think what you need is portion control...you can still eat whatever you want...but limit yourself to how much of it you eat. i used the calorie counter for 2 months to learn portion control and try to exercise 2-3 times a week. i used to run, walk, etc...but now ive been doing zumba only. i started out at 152lb and now im down to 129lb in a span of 8 months. Also, i found that switching the exercise routine helps...dont do the same thing continusouly, your body will get used to it and plateau. Good luck! i know you can do it0 -
I can really relate, but there are 3500 calories in a pound, so you have to eat less, exercise more (and not eat back those calories) or both. If you aren't willing to do the work now, then a tummy tuck is not the answer, because you'll just gain the weight back. The lifestyle you have now, is how you gained the weight and the sag. If you want to change your appearance, you have to change your lifestyle.
As you age, your metabolism slows and thus to maintain, you have to eat less and exercise more (every year of your life). It could be that you used to get away with your lifestyle and now you can't.
If you kill yourself (e.g., 60-90 minutes daily), you may lose between half and one pound per week.
Not sure, however, why you are not open to more change. What's wrong with one drink? What's wrong with a lite beer? What's wrong with no rolls?
Anyway, as this is a fitness website, most folks are unlikely to be too sympathetic. Most here are eating less, exercising more, and planning to do so for life.
If you can't seem to find the motivation or this is a difficult time, then maybe take a break (accept who you are) and try again at a more opportune time. For me, my changes all began with a multivitamin. It gave me more energy and ultimately enough to dedicate some to becoming a new me.
Small changes like logging daily or increasing water, or cutting out desserts all make for a great place to start. Good luck.
p.s. If your job requires you to drink, maybe a new job is in order. Seems like your health is important. And you only have one liver.0 -
Your drinks are probably about 80 calories? You only need to consistently reduce your calories by 25 kcal a day. One roll or one drink is all it would take, as long as it's a permanent change. As mentioned above, start logging what you're eating now, then decide what you can eat less often or eat a smaller amount of.
If you're bringing clients to a restaurant repeatedly, the staff may be willing to work with you to provide healthy portions of just the stuff you really like.0 -
"If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If it's not, you'll find an excuse."
Obviously, it's not important to you. Because all you're doing is making excuses. Either do it, or not. It's really not all that complicated.0 -
The job don't require drinking , just makes it more enjoyable cause I work from home.I usually drink cherry vodka and mix it will sprite but i'll start mixing it with cherry carbonated water thats zero calories0
-
Thank you for letting me know theres 3500 calories in a pound , no wonder i'm not losing weight lol0
-
Diet sprite would work too.0
-
Hey that would work , i'll just leave regular sprite for more of a treat but people say once you get use to diet drinks you won't wanna go back to regular. Is that really true?If so that would benefit me alot then i'd have more calories to eat.0

You have to want to make the change.....and one of the previous posters mentioned that it will be harder to take the weight off (and keep it off) when you are 50. He/she speaks the truth! "Can't" never did anything.

You drink 2-3 vodka drinks a day because you work from home and it makes it more enjoyable? Does your boss know you are working on the job?
It doesn't sound like eating is your problem.0 -
I don't have a boss , I work for myself.I am gonna make it less in calories though by mixing it with carbonated water or diet sprite though.Had to explain that sorry , thanks for commenting0

In my experience, exercise alone hasn't cut it. Seriously - I was training for a marathon and running 40+ miles a week. It got me to a certain point, but it only got me so far - I couldn't trim that belly! (Granted, part of my problem during this time was I was ONLY running and my body because pretty darn efficient at it). However, until I cleaned up the eating, it didn't matter.
In my very non-scientific opinion, I'm going to say I feel like it's about 80% how you eat and 20% exercise (Maybe 70/20... anyone else feel free to throw out numbers)0 -

I've had bosses that were quite shocked to realize I was working on the job, so I stopped for fear I'd give one of them a heart attack!0 -
okay I been just working on picking a day or 2 to treat myself so i'll focus on that too.The thing is though i'm not even anywere near fat.I'm a size 9 , bit curvy but still fairly thin , just wanting to tone up , don't even have to have what u would call washboard abs , just a bit more toned0

First - someone suggested that you should take one week without doing anything different and log it. I think this is a great idea. Then start to make small, sustainable changes. (Example: If someone is consuming 4000 calories a day, trying to drop to 1300 is only setting themselves up for failure. Aim for 3700, then 3500, etc) Going cold turkey on your lifestyle will most likely leave you frustrated.
Secondly - yes a size 9 isn't fat! Bad news? It gets HARDER as you get closer to the end, and it takes more time. It's far less likely you'll see the 2lbs a week coming off like someone would who had 20lbs to lose.
Make sustainable changes to your eating, and get in your exercise - cardio AND strength (and you don't need a gym membership if you don't want one!)
