Hi,

Starting to branch out from food diary to forums and making a few friends posted this reply. Thought would be useful for my intro. I've edited since I wrote it because I realised it was very, very brief.

Im 5'3", 112 lbs or 8 stone as I'd say. Weight crept up in my late teans to 137lbs or 9s 11lb (through bad eating choices and too much food). Although perfectly within range it just wasn't right on me. At university through unhealthy crash dieting went to 105lb or 7s7lb. Maintained this for some time but was nearly as miserable as I was when I was bigger. This continued until one day I physically and emotionally couldn't cope anymore and then actually coudn't stop eating This big-small-big period in my life was for about 8 years. I went back up to 9 s (for about 18 months) but was much healthier and had a fair bit of muscle through regular exercise. Although 9 s is still small it was too big for me personally, on my frame, it just didn't feel right. I didn't want to go back to how I was before, that skinny no muscle tone look! I ended up going on a health kick food wise, but at the same time wasn't able to do as much exercise with a full time job and doing an MSc. So, in about 2 or 3 months I've lost a stone and seem to have settled where I am now naturally. Hard to believe that it's 10 years ago I was heaviest and now I am at my fittest and best (although not necessarily my thinnest).

I'm looking to maintain my current weight and fitness level, but would enjoy getting more into my weights again but it's just finding the time at the moment. I think after Christmas will be better as I'll have a better understanding of how much work the MSc takes! If anyone would like to add an advocate of healthy eating (not starvation!) and exercise I'd be very pleased to meet you.

Best wishes

Jay
