Full after a couple of bites???

Hello everyone! I was inquiring about if anyone else eats a couple of bites and then they are just full. I started about two weeks ago eating four to six small meals a day (eating every 3-4 hours). Recently, when it is getting that time to eat, I am STARVING, but then as soon as I take a couple of bites, I am full and I don't understand this. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Thanks! :)

    when you only eat the 6 small meals, your stomach shrinks and gets full off of less. Just make sure youre consuming enough calories, if its difficult, try having a carnation shake, theyre the same as all the diet shakes and cost half the price. shakes also go down easier.
  • I certainly never have had this problem xD Like a stomach ache kind of full? Or hunger pangs go away?

    If you are truely getting full so fast try to eat more calorie dense foods such as nuts, nut butters,avocado and such. Getting in calories is very important. If you eat too little you will stall eventually, and lose more muscle then you need to. Giving a skinnyfat look

    Someone might be sprinkling sensa on your food without your knowledge.

    I have always been that way -- I can't eat a normal sized meal without feeling physically ill... so I've always been a snacker. There is nothing wrong with that, just make sure you get your calories in. I always snack on fruits/nuts/veggies stuff like that -- Thank goodness for kid sized meals in restaurants :)

    Your stomach doesn't "shrink" when you don't eat. It could be because there is still food in your belly. There is absolutely no reason to HAVE to eat that many meals a day. It doesn't matter how you take in your calories. I usually eat two large meals a day. I have a no grain/sugar - mod protein - high fat lifestyle. My biggest meal is at night. Heck, sometimes I have an entire can of coconut milk for breakfast or for lunch. (600 calories and 55g of fat - 50g of this saturated).

    I'm 5'2" and 115lbs. I am maintaining this weight by controlling the amount of carbs I eat (I treat all carbs the same - even the few carbs in veggies are just converted to sugar in the body - so I consider all carbs except fiber 'sugar'). I don't count calories and I make sure I get PLENTY of fat (protein and fat will keep you full all day).

    I completely disagree with number 5; The whole-grains were the cause of all my gut issues and quite a few veggies also give me issues. In fact, when I cut out all the insoluble fiber (which scrapes the lining of your intestines creating nasty mucus and can possibly perforate it) my IBS, hiatal hernia and indigestion and stomach bloat went away.


    And as far as #9: I would rather remove the beans from my diet then take a pill to help me digest them. Who knows what that pill is doing on the inside.

    when you eat large meals, your stomach is slightly distended, as the size of your meals gets smaller, the walls of the stomach tighten, lessening the need for more food. When you eat smaller portions, the stomach adjusts its elasticity to better fit your needs. this is what a feeling of "fullness" comes from. While the stomach itself does not shrink, its ability to stretch lessens. sorry for using common terminology, ill be more scientifically specific next time
