Hello everyone I have used MFP briefly before and found it an excellent tool to keep track of food and exercise and where I am missing key nutrition. I then got far too lazy and fell into the student lifestyle I was in and let myself go and undid all my work and more besides!

This time I will NOT let it get the better of me.

I have been eating healthily the past week and logging my food for the past couple of days and realised how interesting it is again.

I have just been to the gym too and forgot how fun it actually is pushing yourself.

My girlfriend split up with me just over a week a go and I see this as a sign to a lifestyle change for good.

If anyone wants to share their journey with mine I would be greatly appreciate the motivation and give it back in return.

Thanks for reading.

Jamie

  • Hi Jamie

I only became a member yesterday and still trying to get to grips with it all. But i need friends to also help and encourage me as i dont have many on here. Maybe we can help each other?

Feel free to add me
  • Hey!
I've just joined as well, and I've definitely been a product of the typical collegiate diet. I'm hoping to get some upper body strength and a better-defined stomach. I'd love to have outside support (especially knowing how many cookies my roommates bake).

    Hey!
Did the got-lazy thing too... I'm back on with a lot more determination now! Feel free to add me for the journey!
  • Thank you all. I really appreciate having people to share this with. If I help just one person stay on their journey I will be happy.

Welcome! I'm on day 6 of MFP, but have been doing Weight Watchers since May. I lost 26.4 before starting MFP and lost another 2.2 last week. It been just the kick I needed!

welcome jaime. i was a registered member here for over a year before i got really dedicated. while an external motivation may help you get jump started, the dedication must come from within. focus on creating some real goals and educate yourself about how to reach them.

btw, i read this, and it helps me stay motivated. http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/08/31/is-it-really-worth-it/

I'm with ya, I'm starting completely over w/ MFP, even with new friends! Big life changes can be tough, but you will get through it!
  • @engineman312

I have seen a few of the videos that blog has on YouTube thanks for the link. I know that the journey has some ups and downs but thats life. I am dedicated and with having external motivation I am hoping it helps keep me on the straight and narrow and expect someone to give me a 'virtual kick up the ar*e' if I start to slack.

    Cheers,

    Jamie

Welcome, I am new to MFP again myself. I had used the app on my phone for calorie counting and then got out of the habit. I'm back now but just started using the message boards (this is my first post). I think MFP is a great tool for keeping myself in check. I am looking forward to sharing support with people on this site as well.
Feel free to friend me or shoot a message. Good luck to you.
BTW, is that your shepherd in your ticker? beautiful dogs, I have a soft spot for shepherds...dogs of any kind really but there's something about a shepherd <3

The fact that you have been at a week and find it interesting is good. You also state you are enjoying the gym. Keep your routine. You will start feeling better and better all the time. Add me as a friend if you would like for additional support.
  • @cfergy

Totally agree. I found the site just before the app came out and find them both brilliant. I added you as a friend thank you. And yes he is my ex-girlfriends dog Oscar (part german shep, part akita, part husky). Had him since a pup so stay friends to go walk him and Buster (black lab).

    @TundraTed

Thank you very much. I enjoyed it last time and really wish I hadn't stopped. Thanks for permission to add you. I appreciate it.
