I'm going insane!

My boyfriend and I are waiting to hear on an offer we put in on a house. It is a short sale so they can take quite a while, but this saturday will make 9 weeks since we put in our offer:noway:

Overall a short sale was a good choice for us because our lease on our apartment isn't up until the end of this month. So if we had found a house back in December that wasn't a short sale we would have ended up closing way before our lease was up. I am just getting soooo anxious. I want this house so bad...whenever I am going that way I drive by it, sometimes I can't sleep at night because I am so anxious about getting it and starting a life in a house, finally.

It's also frustrating that we haven't heard anything. I would feel better if we at least got updates like the house is being appraised next week, or the city inspections are being done tomorrow, etc. Everything I read about short sales say how complicated they are and why they take so long, but without any updates I just feel like no one is doing anything on it!

I'm sorry. It must be incredibly frustrating! Hope the wait was worth it in the end!

Gosh, I know nothing about short sales but I do understand the anxiety and not being able to sleep! Remember to take care of yourself and whatever is meant to be, will happen!

I do hope you're in your new home before you know it!

They used the same real estate agent as my niece and nephew who purchased a home on a short sale and they closed in 36 days. They had a short sale company through Coldwell Banker that helped them.. Tell your real estate agent to call call call and fax fax fax for updates DAILY..

Yeah I bug her a lot, but in the end I am not with her all day so I don't know how aggressive she is or isn't being. The bad thing about short sales is that they CAN close quickly, but they can also take up to 16 weeks I've heard. My dad's girlfriend recently bought a short sale and it took about 6 weeks for an answer and a month to close. I'm REALLY hoping we hear something this month.
