The scale was 163.5 this morning which officially moved me from "obese" to overweight"!!!

I have lost 16.5 pounds since the beginning of January and I know that MFP was made it so much easier. It is wonderful to know that any time of day or night somebody is going through exactly what I am going through and is on here. Thank you!!!!! :flowerforyou:

CONGRATS, I am 162 and getting over that obesity hump into the overweight felt so good, I have been at a plateau for a while now, I think just winter blues, but I can't wait to see that healthy range in my future, good luck on your journey.

Congrats to you AmandaJ - that's quite an accomplishment!!! I'm having trouble taking the weight off - I keep losing 1 week and gaining it back the following. I've been working out like a nut 5 days a week - any suggestions??? Can you tell me what you have done to lose 16.5 pounds since January? Please offer any advice that you can....

I am the last person to give advice, but I will share my story...

I decided right after Christmas I wanted to change the way I looked and felt but knew it would take some major changes. I was a major Coke drinker so I started tapering off, I enjoyed my last one on New Year's Eve. That alone cut major calories since I drank the real stuff and not diet. I started eating much healthier. breakfast, lunch and dinner and two or three healthy snacks in-between. I keep my calories at 1200 but I eat 75% at least of my exercise calories. So my calorie intake with my exercise calories is more like 1600 per day. I also allow myself cheat meals, but think I have only had two since the beginning. I exercise six days a week, but change it all around. Two days a week I do water aerobics and swim laps. Some time on those days also I walk / run. Somedays I ride this horrible bicycle in my basement, that is miserable and I walk / run on those days. Some days I walk hills and some days I go for distance. I just keep my body guessing at what I am going to do. I also track every morsel that goes into my mouth through my food diary. I drink at least 16 cups of water a day, I know way overkill but that is what my body craves so I give it to it. I purchased a HRM on sale and use it which is a good thing since my calories burnt were a lot less on the bicycle and a lot more on walking. I think one of the best things I did for myself was starting to get more sleep, I really feel that is important. I also joined the Black Team on here for the weekly challenge and they give me more motivation than I could ever express in words.

Okay I have rambled on enough, this is just what is working for me. Smendek910, I hope the scale starts to be nice to you soon! :flowerforyou:
