Bump?

I've seen "Bump" several times in posts and I can't figure out what it means. Is it like "ditto"?

    I often wondered that too. I believe it is a way to get the post back to the most recent one again so more people will see it.

    It also lets you "bookmark" it. So a recipe you can go back and find later, etc.
    And yes, to get it back up on the most recent.
