Just a brief note to remember the lives lost at Pearl Harbor and a thank you to all of the service men & women who put themselves in harm's way to protect the rest of us. Your service & sacrifice and that of your families at home means more to many of us that words can say. :flowerforyou:

Thanks for posting this! In our daily lives here in America it can be easy to take our freedom for granted. Easy to forget that freedom is not free at all. Easy to forget that men and women have put their lives on the line for us. They still are!

I'll add my Thanks to all the service members past and present who serve to allow us to have our freedom!

This day will never be forgotten by our generation. but it doubtful that the next generation will know very much about it, or even care at all.
About 120 survivors of the Pearl Harbor bombing commemorated the Japanese attack and the thousands who lost their lives that day 70 years ago by observing a moment of silence on today at the PH Memorial. During the ceremony, a group of survivors announced that they would disband at the end of the month - due to age and poor health of the remaining members.
In most history books, everything that happened on this day is only a page long & 1/2 of that page is a picture of the burning USS Arizona.

So great to add this! I was thinking of Pearl Harbor also. My husband is currently serving in Afghanistan and I appreciate our service memebers even more so now.
